Comfort Island
Dear Nathan,
It’s still blowing like heck here. The other night I woke up and went down to hold the hanging lamps on the porch down with bungie cords. The wind is so hard, it makes the river look like it’s flowing backwards. There isn’t much desire to go out and work, but we have to start prepping the house and the island for winter. Conor picked up eight bags of mulch that we’ll use to protect the young trees we’ve planted over the last 8 years. The winter here is brutal, so any help we can give them…
We had a great visit with Dennis, Jan and Leo. Comfort wasn’t really designed with young kids in mind…but it turned out well. We have cupboards filled with games, scavenging on the beach, hidden passageways, a tower and the small bear sculptures on the Keewaydin side. Leo is 8…with all of the energy and excitement of his age. We were very happy to have him here.
We have one more big weekend ahead…just before closing. A full house and then the rush to leave.
Stephen
