Comfort Island
Dear Lindsay,
Besides you of course, my sister is probably the smartest person I know. She proved it again last night at Trivia Night in Watertown at the Garland City Beer Works. I tried to second guess her on a question…and insisted, and was wrong. The retribution was swift. I should have known better.
Yesterday was all about wrapping up for the fall. Conor and I helped Todd pull his antique Hutchinson….Kro-Flite. It’s a tough job, and Todd has done it by himself in the past. I have no idea how.
I put canvas wrapping on the Coal House and swept it out. Conor mentioned that it makes the entire property looks like we’re closing down…and I guess we are as we slowly tick off the massive list. Preparing a nine bedroom house for the winter is no small task.
This morning the sky is grey and the leaves are all starting to turn. We already replaced the summer flowers with mums. I’m not quite ready to give up to empty bleakness yet.
